Putumayo has put together a nice treat for you to get away from your daily life and enter the world’s Shangri-Las. Gardens of Eden collects world music from places like India, Papua New Guinea, Brazil, Hawaii, Tibet and others. The theme with Eden is to take the listener on a transcendental journey into some of the world’s most beautiful places and succeeds on all accounts. All I could think about while listening to this disc was kicking back on a bed of pillows and being fed grapes while I was being fanned. Putumayo has a dual purpose for doing this album. Not only are they trying to bring you amazing music from beautiful regions of the world but they are also trying to make people aware that these beautiful areas are endangered and highlighting organization that are trying to help. The music is really relaxing and does make you feel like you have entered heaven. So in you hectic life, take a break and get away to your own tropical paradise. Even if it’s only for a moment.
