Since the giant merger of Universal and Polygram, Rocket From The Crypt was left without a home. Now on influential indie Vagrant Records they are back to prove their worthiness. Group Sounds isn’t really different than any of the bands other recent material but there is one thing for sure, the more experience this band gets, the better they sound. Take for instance the mature sounding “Dead Seeds or even the epic album closer “Ghost Shark which is a bit slower and yet still fairly raw. Don’t worry about the horns because they are all here in full force. If you are one of those people who have stayed away from RFTC because of the horns with the reasoning that they are just another ska band be assured that this is raw rock and roll at it’s finest. They take their rock seriously and they aren’t happy until the whole crowd is caught in a frenzied mass of dancing. Tracks like “White Belt and “Heart of a Rat are sure to please the hardcore fan. It is amazing to think that this fresh sounding band has already celebrated its tenth birthday.
