Dave Stewart was no doubt a competent musician and producer. The brains behind the Eurythmics, he was content to sit in the background and provide the substance to a succession of, usually female singers. He brought his particular talents to this sixties party cover. When I bought this pop single it sounded good and offered a successful update of an old bubblegum classic. I'm not so sure now that it holds much to tempt me. Like the original, it has turned out to be very much a child of its time. As that time has now passed (in my life at least) it loses its relevance.
