Robert Plant's first brief solo career took place when he was a nineteen year old kid signed to CBS. He released two rather unremarkable singles before he drifted off to front the Band of Joy and then onto Led Zeppelin. This is the first of those singles, a curious mix of sixties psychedelic pop with a heavy blues rock undertone. The lyrics are a bit mawkish but the vocal performance is unmistakably Robert Plant. The seeds of future great vocal performances with Led Zeppelin can be said to have been sown here. Of the two singles he issued around this time, this is undoubtedly the better one but it is really only for the curious or the completist.
