Cornershop was a band which lived the multiculturalism of the late nineties in Britain. A mix of Indian and white British kids (ironically with one of the latter playing the sitar), "Brimful of Asha" was a huge hit for them in this country. Part Bollywood and part Bloody-Good pop, this was insanely catchy, complete with its one classic line from the refrain
"Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow"
If more pop singles were made like this one, there would still be hope for the UK mainstream pop industry. Even the unnecessary twiddlings of Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) cannot detract from just how good this is.
