Saso is a band that doesn’t rock. That’s not a bad thing either. They fit into the category of mope rock or slowcore (whichever buzzword you feel like using) and they do it well. Warmed Up is also the debut album for the label Melted Snow. There wasn’t much information about either the band or the label (note to Melted Snow: There is such a thing as not enough info. Especially when you are so new) so I can’t tell you where either are based. From what I can figure, Saso is a two person operation by Ben Rawlins and Jim Lawler. It is a fine release that gets your interest up just enough to want more after the 20 minutes of music. It is mellow but you have to realize the talent that goes into these mope rock bands. Not everyone can play this soft and still come off sounding this good.
