I hate to say it, but I actually like this. Normally Snow Patrol make me want to pick up the nearest large heavy object and smash to pieces whatever is the source of it. But this is different. I didn't realise it was even Snow Patrol when I first heard it, and it may well have put me off if I had, such is my prejudice. Still, "Chasing Cars" is one of those songs that you cannot find offensive, no matter how hard you try. It is melancholic without being maudlin and mournful without being overly slow. OK, I admit it is not going to make me change my mind about Snow Patrol let alone go out and buy one of their albums, but I can listen to this and enjoy it. And who cares if some people don't like it.
