With Christmas nearly upon us, it is time to get out those Christmas songs and deck the holly. OK, its only November, but Christmas starts early these days. I don't usually buy Christmas singles, but this split single I just had to have. Both sides are good and have their own merits. "Christmas Fever" is a more traditional format, coming from the body of work of a French chanteur, Charlelie Couture. However, I far and away prefer "Christmas Wrapping" by the Waitresses. This has a corny rap style delivery about a girl's failed attempts to hook up with some guy all year finally coming to fruition by accident at Christmas. The cheery melody and that wonderful, soaring sax line help make it but dont get the extended version which is a considerable disappointment.
