Ryan is depressed. He has broken up with a long-term love and making LA his new home. You know what that means in the world of country music? Great songwriting material and Ryan Adams takes it all in and focuses it in the right direction. For those people that thought Heartbreaker (Ryan’s debut on Bloodshot) was one of the greatest alt-country albums to come in ages will be in line for Gold. Ryan has indeed topped his Bloodshot album with all this new material. His voice is very dynamic and his songs are getting better with every note that he writes. Some people just wrote Whiskeytown and Ryan Adams off as Uncle Tupelo or Wilco wannabes but rest assured that they are now eating their words. Ryan has most definitely proved himself as one of the forerunners in the genre. Whether it’s rock or heartbreaking soul, Ryan does good on all fronts.
