Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound and image. There's something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever 'it' is - they all seem to have 'it'.



Today I listened to the latest CD from New York based Boy with a Fish (I Put My Tongue On The Window) - 2011. Venturing to his website it is a very professional presentation. From start to finish this CD from Boy With A Fish is very pleasurable. It has a very College Rock quality to it and even dabbles in Punk to traditional Indie Rock. Any fans of any of these musical styles will enjoy this latest release from Boy With A Fish. Its clearly marketed for those who like the undiscovered gem of a band hitting the college live circuit. In many respects this is the best music out there for the genera. The music has a mystique of say The Pixies, or R.E.M I get the impression Claus is rolling with what he knows as a performer. Favorite tracks include Track 1 (Butter), Track 2 (Wish I Had a Plan) and Track 8 (I'll Miss the Swimming).All pieces have an amazing feel. Within each one of these compositions Boy with a Fish finds their musical soul and delivers their best musical mojo. His band is spot on and just makes the whole CD even more enjoyable with much in the way of instrumentation variety. All in all one of the best CDs I've heard this year.



I see Boy with a Fish as a strong up and comer. As time goes by he will no doubt refine and fine-tune their overall sound and musical personality. I am eager to hear what his next release will sound like. In close most famous artists out there have 'it' I'm not so sure what it but Boy With A Fish definitely has whatever 'it' may be.
