These hillbilly punks have been at this music thing for almost a decade now and they just seem to be getting more creative with each album. Blood and Mood even goes as far as to add a bit of samples and beats (don't let this scare off long time fans) and they actually make them work. The band is always pushing the limits of bluegrass and country music in general and this album is their most creative yet. Be sure and check out one highlight "Love songs suck" with what seems like programmed drums plugging away in the back while lead singer, Danny Barnes sings along. A few of the tracks are dark and somewhat brooding but there isn't a snoozer no here. The song about the fictional band, Sawdust Boogers, is a riot proving that they still maintain their sense of humor. For anyone who appreciates bastardized music standards will thoroughly enjoy Bad Liver's Blood and Mood.
