Rocking on with the Who, even as they seemed to be a band increasingly in search of a future to hold out promise for the present. Daltrey sounds a tad more gravelly while Townshend seems to have lost the outrageous flair of his earlier work. Keith Moon even seems restrained. Surely that can never be a good sign. This was one of the best of the Who's later output but it did not match up to the standards they had set themselves in the early seventies or even their classics from the sixties. Drugs and booze taking their toll no doubt.
