TV Smith was the talent and inspiration behind the Adverts, one of the better of what you might call the second division punk bands. His talent and vision was far bigger than the rest of the band which soon split as punk died. His new band took on a new direction, more towards the nascent post-punk music which was then beginning to emerge from punks wreckage. His first single was this, politically-motivated song about the stationing of cruise missiles in the UK. It was a good enough track with some good guitar and synthesizer work. Sadly, it simply did not take off. TV Smith is still doing the rounds of London's clubs, apparently, but I never heard any more from the Explorers.
