Even the photo on the cover says it all, a bare chested Rod staring moodily at the camera beside some beach. Long ago left behind was Rod, the shy rocker with the gravely voice playing blues covers in the pubs and clubs of Camden. This marked the final step in the metamorphosis of Rod Stewart, from that shy rocker to the rakish darling of the charts you suspected he always wished to become. "Sailing" is a good enough track, don't get me wrong. It's just not that good. The B-Side is much better, but that has been done so many times before, who needs another cover version.
