Solid Aussie garage rock which emerged at the same time as punk hit the UK and consequently got incorporated into the punk brand. This is as raw as it gets for punk, but stands out because the guys knew how to negotiate their way around a guitar fret board. "I'm Stranded" is full of the high energy and manic power which gives clues as to the musical antecedents of the Saints. This may be punk, but it is punk which drew directly from the Motor City sounds of the Stooges and MC5 a few years earlier. This is one of those songs which has had an enormous, though largely unappreciated impact on music in the late seventies.
