The Snake Corps were formed from the wreckage of the Sad Lovers and Giants and, like the latter outfit, they tried to move away from a post-punk that they regarded as shackling their creativity. Their sound had a much more dreamy atmosphere to it and proved more popular on the Continent than it did in the UK. The "Some other Time" EP was pretty much the bands final output, though they have reformed recently. It is a dreamy and dark sound with the title track coming across as a kind of Gothic version of the Sad Lovers and Giants. However, by the time they released this the time for this genre of music had largely passed, swept away by grunge. A pity, because the band had some potential. It is to be hoped that their reunion produces something interesting.
