This little EP (3 songs to be precise) is just a little showcase on what to expect from this upcoming Philadelphia hard rock band. Don’t expect the White Stripes here because Silvertide is more along the lines of the Black Crowes. A little more soul in this rock. These guys aren’t about trying to be cool and fitting in. No, Silvertide is more interested in playing a gritty style of rock that can fill radio airwaves if people were so stuck up. American Excess emotes a gritty/rootsy rock that really hits home and reminds me of what heavy rock music used to be all about. Sure, you could probably fit these guys into an opening slot for media darlings The White Stripes but the best place to see Silvertide right now would be your local pub unexpectedly. I’ll be on the lookout for their full-length.
