Now, are the Killa Beez just an extension of the Wu-Tang clan? I know this is the second “Killa Beez album out and it just doesn’t fare to the regular Wu-Tang stuff. I’m not saying that there aren’t any merited songs on The Sting, it just seems like a lot of filler going on here. Like what the hell is “Doe Ra Wu? The production on The Sting is weak and it sound like a lot of the songs are just recorded right of off the board. The featured artist list is impressive: Old Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna, Fat Joe, Black Knights (who provide one of the album highlights entitled “Bluntz, Martinez, Girlz, Gunz) and of course the album’s creator The RZA. If he is caught rapping here you will see him referred to as Bobby Digital. There are a few really great tracks on The Sting but Killa Beez have to worry a little more about production and not try and go for quantity. One of the cooler tracks is the totally soulful “Odyssey where they are backed up by the Isaac Hayes Band. This track is on the Bonus EP that has a better production value than the main album.
