Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound and image. There's something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever "it" is - they all seem to have "it".

Today I listened to the latest CD from Oyster Bay, New York native, singer/songwriter phenom Charlie Dane (Dreamland - 2011) (Popcore Entertainment). Venturing to her website it's clearly a professional presentation showing Dane is only 13 years of age. Dane has made quite a mark for herself thus far in her short musical career. From start to finish this CD from Dane is very pleasurable record. It has a solid Modern-Rock-Pop quality to it and even dabbles in Power Pop-Rock. Any fans of any of these musical styles will enjoy this latest release from Hart. It's clearly marketed for those who like a guitar toting female front with a mystique of say a Jewel, Joan Osborne, Alanis Morossette and even Natilie Imbruglia. I get the impression Dane is rolling with what she knows as a performer and songwriter within each one of these pieces. In other words she hits the mark remarkably well just being who he is. Favorite tracks include (Dreamland), (All I Know) and (Past the Point). All tracks have amazing feel to them and will have you coming back for more. Within each piece Dane finds her soul and delivers her best musical mojo. The musical touches of her band are spot on and just makes the whole CD more enjoyable. The overall vibe is upbeat, positive and will leave you feeling more invigorated than you were 45 minutes prior.

The mix is not quite up to par with everything else about Dane. Although it is adequate, it's not to a Gold Standard.

I see Dane as an undiscovered Gem, a Genuine Article, or a real up and comer within the industry. As time goes by she will no doubt develop and even broader fanbase across the US and abroad if she plays her cards right. I am eager to hear and see what the future holds for this amazing artist. She clearly has the total package required to garner success. In close most famous artists out there have "it" I'm not so sure what it but Charlie Dane definitely has whatever "it" is.
