RecommendA few years ago Bone Thugs and Harmony topped the rap charts with the lead of Layzie Bone. Layzie Bone shows his solo stuff once again with the new issue of Mo Thugs. He has taken production credits and is also featured on 7 tracks on this great album. I am not normally a "gangsta rap" fan but this is a big exception as the musicianship and rhymes are superb. Featured on many tracks are a new hip hop group called Desperidosand they prove their worth. They consist of friends of Layzie Bones Missing on this release is Krayzie Bones who was apparently too busy with his own project. The variety of styles on The Mothership is very diverse. Smooth almost R&B styles to straight ahead ganster rap can be found. This is not one of the better releases in the Bone Thugs family but it is still a fairly strong release.
