Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound and image. There's something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever "it" is - they all seem to have "it".
Today I listened to the latest CD from New York based singer/songwriter Dwayna Litz (Counting your Blessings - 2012. Venturing to her website it's clearly a professional presentation showing this is her fifth release. From start to finish this CD from Litz is a very pleasurable musical experience. It has a solid Modern-Big-Band quality to it and even dabbles in contemporary Pop and Broadway-Cabaret Jazz. Any fans of any of these musical styles will enjoy this latest release from Litz. It's clearly marketed for those who like a choreographed female front with a mystique of say a Diana Krall, Jane Monheit, Stacey Kent and of course Bette Midler. I get the impression Litz is rolling with what she knows as a performer. In other words she hits the mark remarkably well just being who he is. This means Litz has what they call star power. Favorite tracks include (Someone to Watch Over Me), (Smile) and (Cross over the Bridge). All tracks have amazing feel to them and will have you coming back for more. Within each piece Litz bears her soul and delivers amazing musical mojo vocally. The musical touches of her amazing band are spot on and just makes the whole CD more enjoyable and entertaining. The overall vibe is upbeat, positive and will get you on the dance floor for sure. It also touches many powerful emotions.
I definitely see Litz as a real diamond in the rough, a real undiscovered talent. As time goes by we will no doubt hear more from her. I am eager to hear and see what the future holds for this amazing artist. She clearly has the total package required to garner success her in the US and abroad. In close most famous artists out there have "it" I'm not so sure what it but Dwayna Litz definitely has whatever "it" may be.
I've only given out the perfect 10 star rating to a handful of artists. Dwayna Litz and this latest CD has no weaknesses period! Need I say more?
