Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound and image. There's something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever "it" is - they all seem to have "it".

Today I listened to the latest single from Long Island, NY based singer/songwriter phenoms Petrel. (Popcore Entertainment). Venturing to the World Wide Web it shows it's a hot single right now picking up much in the way of traction heading into the Summer. This 3 sister act just re-located in LA and have joined forces with superstar manager Johhny Wright. From start to finish this single from Petrel is a very pleasurable yet cutting edge musical experience. It definitely has a solid modern-dance quality to it but even dabbles in hip-hop and power pop. Any fans of any of these musical styles will enjoy this latest release from Petrel. It's clearly marketed for those who like a choreographed female front with a mystique of say a Lady Ga Ga, Christine Aguilera, and even Brittany Spears. But what makes Petrel even more deadly is how they stand out from other power pop divas by being a 3 sister act. Jess (Lead Vocals), Bekeh (Keyboards and Drums) and Destiny (Guitar). This give Petrel a Powder Puff Girls allure but aslo showcases real musicianship from the gals. I get the impression Petrel is rolling with what she knows as performers and musicians. Each second has an amazing feel and will have you humming the song when it is over. Within each segment Jess and company bare their soul and delivers their best musical mojo. The musical touches are spot on (producer Brian Howes) and just makes the whole CD more enjoyable. The overall vibe is upbeat, positive and will get you on the dance floor for sure.

I see Petrel as a real diamond in the rough, a real up and comer. As time goes by she will no doubt refine and fine-tune his live performances and develop and even broader fanbase here in the US. I am eager to hear and see what the future holds for these gals from Long Island, NY. They clearly has the total package required to garner success down in Los Angels. In close most famous artists out there have "it" I'm not so sure what it but Petrel (Jess, Bekeh and Destiny definitely has whatever "it" may be.
