Radney Foster has succeeded in creating a “different live album. Fans of Radney will already know that he is a bit hard to pinpoint. At times he is as country as Montana acreage and at other times he is as rock as the Dallas skyline. This put him in a tough position when he was choosing his live band for his live album. Radney states, “I knew I needed a special band to make my country side and my rock side fit together. He did just fine in calling up a broad variety of adaptable musicians playing everything from slide guitar and Hammond B-3 to the stand up bass and mandolin. Foster managed to cut the whole thing right from two nights at the Continental Club in Austin, TX. There are a couple bonus tracks on the album, “Texas in 1880 with his friend Pat Green and a song called “Tonight. Not only is this a great example of Radney Foster’s live shows but it also showcases his diverse songwriting. He is a very talented songwriter and has been covered by Hootie and the Blowfish, Pistoleros, the Dixie Chicks and the infamous Guy Clark.
