Following the gradual explosiveness (oxymoron, I know) of their first album, Mumford & Sons had some big shoes to fill. How does Babel live up to Sigh No More?... Quite well actually.
Although no single song grabs me the way "Little Lion Man" did, I feel Babel is a fuller, more consistent album than the first. Also, Marcus Mumford really get comfortable and displays his raw emotion in tracks such as "Babel" and "Brown Crown" - a sound that can really chill the bone.
Mumford & Sons' success is still an odd one. Seeing old school folk music hit the top of the charts is a nice and refreshing change. Must hear tracks include: "Babel", "I Will Wait" and "Lover of the Light".
