David Singer really grabbed me with his debut album, The Cost of Living, and I was instantly turned into a fan of this softly spoken singer/songwriter. He is back with his sophomore album, Civil Wars and it is really impressive. This time around he has a so called band called the Sweet Science. Singer’s way to approaching songwriting is to be as subtle and gentle as possible. That includes the arrangements that he chooses for the songs. Every song is a pleasure on Civil Wars, as were the songs on his debut. His voice sounds quirky but never strained. David always seems like he’s fairly relaxed and that is due to the fine musicians that he surrounds himself with. Singer is a confident musician despite his moody music that he writes. One day the rest of the world will discover his masterful musicianship and the rest will be history. Enjoy it while it’s exclusive.
