My foot was bouncing with the beat from the moment I heard them. I think they?re very raw, very in your face, and very tight. I also agree that they?re infectious. Like I said, my foot started moving when I started listening, and I?ll be damned if it didn?t stop moving until the end of the album. The bass lines are simple, the guitar is simple, but I can see them playing in strip clubs across the nation, and hopefully becoming something. They remind me of wolfmother or buck cherry in that aspect. In your face rock and roll.
I was captivated from the get go and didn?t stop rockin out until the last song?then I listened to it all over. I agree, you mix edgy punk rock with Hard rock and the answer is :Sex Slaves. I put this bluntly, this album kicks ass. I?m not so sure I?d classify them with MCR or Sum 41, I think they?re much harder and in- your face than those bands. Listening to this band reminds me of the first time I ever listened to 3 inches of Blood. It?s heavy and in your face, get to the point i.e I want to Kill you and Sik Fuck. Don?t hold back Eric.
I spent all my time trying to be sober for you and I could have been wasted?you broke my heart and I want to kill you. Everyone has felt that way at one point or another. Very honest lyrics, great backups, and a cohesive band to back it up. Reminds me of Jackyl when they sang their song about Bin Laden. I love bands that don?t hold back. After the last 2 bands I reviewed this was a refreshing album.
I see the classic rock influence, kinda like Twisted Sister in call of the wild. What happens in NY, stays in NY, don?t worry about it. I?m a nice guy when you let me be, get in line bitch, with everyone else. The album is full of one liners. Eric probably has a bowl of ?Nut N Bitch? for breakfast along with a cranberry vodka every morning. I love Rock N roll band, regardless of the fact they borrowed from Handshake by Bad religion. I can forgive them because I like Bad Religion, and he only used it as an intro then went into his own gig.
Lets make out is this only song I dislike, but hey, every album has one song that sucks. The band seems dedicated, they have a great presence, a great beat, a great singer, great influences, and a great attitude for a rock band. Hell they even use a cowbell. They have that Kiss attitude, playing every night for whoever wants to hear it. I think I?ll stop my reviewing for tonight. I got drunk is classic, and like the rest of the album, I?m not a doctor but I study some shit, I have a strong hypothesis, this band kicks ass.

Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound and image. There's something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever "it" is - they all seem to have "it".

Today I listened to the latest CD from New York 3-piece rock and Sex Slaves who just released their third CD entitled: "Call of the Wild" released in 2012. Venturing to their website I get the impression this is one group that's extremely determined and passionate about their songwriting craft and being in a no holds barred Rock band out on tour. From start to finish this CD from Sex Slaves delivers and is a very entertaining musical experience. It pushes hard and has an aggressive Punk-Rock quality to it, and even dabbles in Classic Hair Metal and Hard Rock. It also reminds me of My Chemical Romance, Sum 41, The Network Runs and Roses and Pinhead Gunpowder. Any fans of any of these musical styles or bands will enjoy this latest release. It's clearly marketed for those who like a female vocal front and playing that never let's down its guard. I get the impression these guys are letting it all hang out via this compelling 13 track line up. In other words they hits the mark remarkably well by just by being who they are musically. Favorite tracks include (Lose The Dress) and (Burning Bridges) and (Silk Fur). All songs strike the perfect balance between rock, alternative rock and in your face punk. The songwriting is impressive and digs a bit deeper than the next independent band. Within each one of these pieces Sex Slaves capture something special as they bares their soul and delivers what I would call pure musical mojo. It offers much in the way of passion and compelling-thought provoking lyrical content. The playing from all members is spot on and just makes the whole CD even more enjoyable. The vocal abilities from singer Eric13 are off the charts. The overall vibe of the production is very defiant, rebellious and a bit comical with pockets of mayhem shining through.

As far as sound quality goes the music is very, very loud and bright sounding. I noticed I kept reaching for the volume knob as I listened to it. Not sure why this is - all I can say is the CD sounded very overbearing on my high end stereo system and when I reduced the High Gain, reduced my Treble and maxed out the Bass it helped allot.

I see Sex Slaves as a diamond in the rough, with an amazing amount of potential. As time goes by we will no doubt hear more from this band. I also wouldn't be surprised to hear their music on the Radio someday or even in a vide game or a Reality TV Series. I'm also eager to see what the future holds for Sex Slaves as it looks bright. In close most famous artists out there have "it" I'm not so sure what it but Sex Slaves have whatever "it" is.
