Albert Collins left us with many treasures, Ice Pickin' among the most treasured. After falling prey to liver cancer in 1993 he was to record no longer even though he was improving every year. Albert Collins was known as the "Master of the Telecaster" and for good reason. On Ice Pickin' he'll be playing a riff and then out of nowhere he just kicks it, almost as if his guitar had a mind of it's own. Stevie Ray Vaughan learned much from his style and built his whole being around this style. This being Albert First recording for Alligator it was also the album that raised the standards for electric blues. Probably the best place to start if you are thinking about getting into electric blues.
