Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound and image. There's something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever "it" is - they all seem to have "it".

Today I listened to the latest CD from New York based Singer/Songwriter Alia Lorae who just released her latest CD entitled: The Mad and the Beautiful (2012). Venturing to the BANDCAMP website I get the impression Lorae is extremely determined, dedicated and passionate about the songwriting craft and being in a no holds barred Pop Artist. From start to finish this CD from Lorae delivers and is a very entertaining musical experience all around. At times it pushes hard in true to form Industrial/Electronica fashion, but also covers a wide range of generas from Ambient, Chill, New Age and even Goth-Alternative-Progressive Electronica It also reminds me of Beck, Mody and Prodigy but with an amazing female singer. Any fans of any of these musical styles or bands will enjoy this latest release. It's clearly marketed for those who like a Sonic-Ambient atmosphere and movements with a honey coated vocal delivery. I get the impression Lorae is letting it all hang out via this compelling 9 track line up. In other words she hits the mark remarkably well by just by being who she is musically. Favorite tracks include (XXX), (I/m not Here) and (Modern Monsters). All songs strike the perfect balance between Ambient, Chill and Ambient Electronica. The songwriting is impressive and digs a bit deeper than the next Ambient composer. Within each one of these pieces Lorae capture something truly special as he bares her soul and delivers what I would call pure musical mojo. It offers much in the way of passion and compelling-thought provoking landscape and architecture. The playing/writing and production virtuoso from Lorae and Jim Williams is spot on and just makes the whole CD even more enjoyable.

I see Alia Lorae as a diamond in the rough, with an amazing amount of potential. As time goes by we will no doubt hear more from her. I also would be surprised to hear his music on Satellite Radio someday or even in a Commercial, Video Game or a Reality TV Series. In close most famous artists out there have "it" I'm not so sure what it but Alia Lorae has whatever "it" is.
