You may be wondering why George Jones fits in alongside the rest of the reviews on MusicEmissions. Well He was an original. He is one of the last living links to Hank Williams and Lefty Frizzell amongst other past country greats. After reading the Gram Parsons tribute I realized what an icon he really is. This collection does a good job at collecting some of his most important early tracks such as his first Top Five single from 1955, "Why Baby Why". His first number one single, "White Lightning", is here as well. Find out why George Jones was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992. He was an important country performer and songwriter. Oh yeah, the disc is dirt cheap too.
