Hunter - Pressure
Blending genres and cultures much like his hometown of NYC, Hunter's debut album Pressure boils over like a melting pot with a variety of obvious influences. "Dangerous" era Michael Jackson, Color Me Badd along with modern-day Bruno Mars and Ne-Yo immediately come to mind from the first note. Commenting from the gate that's he's well aware of the industry "scheme for the fortune, price of the fame", he breaks out a bit from the typical "Oooh baby I love you" R&B songs we've all heard a million times. Although there's a place for him in the slaying falsetto-hitting girl-fainting crushworthy brotherhood, he brings a few house, Stevie B freestyle and reggae bangers to the table as well.
"Dancin Man", the second "club bangin blazin" track on the record, did indeed make me want to "move, shake it, shake it, shake it". He continues hitting his club stride on the
faster tempo tracks like "My Direction" and "Sexercise". He'll def attract a broader pop audience with "All In" and "Cool Rush" but shows more versatility turning into a deep prophet with lyrics like "praying for retribution, among murderous thieves I stood" on reggae rocker "Prodigal Plan". The album shows promise and Hunter has the potential to hit the bigs "sooner" rather than "later".

Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound and image. There's something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever "it" is they all seem to have "it".
Today I listened to the latest single from New York based Singer Songwriter: Hunter entitled -"Pressure" (2012) Venturing to the Internet I get the impression this guy is a real diamond in the rough in the New York area making quite a name for himself thus far in his musical career. Hunter definitely knows how to capture your full undivided attention with his passionate messages and catchy songs. Let me go on record by saying if you haven't heard of Hunter yet you will in 2013. From start to finish "Promise" is a very entertaining musical statement from start to finish. It covers a lot of ground with many Pop, Chill and a slight Pop Reggae aftertaste. Any fans of any of these many musical styles will enjoy this latest release. It's clearly marketed for those who like the male fronted rap persona of say classic Outkast, Nas, Jay-Z, Tupac, and even a splash of Akon, and Iyaz. Hunter holds his own behind the microphone, and is an impressive performer. Hunter is clearly being himself as an artist and is one artists that can be powerful yet positive all at the same time. Every second of this latest release possesses an amazing feel and Top Flight delivers solid production value. The sampling and production touches are rock solid. Again I see Hunter as an artist with serious potential armend with his overall persona, amazing writing touch and addictive voice. This latest release showcases a hot collection of tracks, and if the masses tap into Hunter it could be like pouring gasoline on fire. In close most famous artists out there have "it" I'm not so sure what it but Hunter definitely has whatever "it" may be.
