Lambchop - Nixon
Many consider Lambchop to be an alt country band. I think that what the band strives for is a happy medium between pop balladry and a bit of country twang. Kurt Wagner, lead vocals, has an amazing voice that he can use as a droning baritone or as a high falsetto and he shows his abilities here. A bit of a strange them and not really that apparent is that of Richard Nixon. Reading Kurt's notes on the track listing he somehow fits Nixon into each one. The thirteen piece band is at it's alltime finest. With the strings and the brass even throw in vibes every once and a while add up to a very enchanting listen. Definitely an album, or band for that matter, to be listened to in your own company.
