Spacehog - The Hogyssey
Yup, this is the one hit wonder band Spacehog (Remember "In the Meantime" from about 5 years ago?) and they are back with their third album. This time around though, they don't have a major label supporting them. Is this a good thing? I think so. Spacehog is a very talented band that somehow got the major label deal right of the bat without gaining the experience that they needed. Spacehog isn't just a commercial rock band, they are an attempt at resurrecting the glam sound that Mott The Hoople and David Bowie did so well. Is there room for it in 2001? Of course! That is unless you like the crap that's littering the radio today. They may just have the key this time around because they have already secured airplay on the first single "I Want To Live" and that's not even the best track on the album. Try out "Perpetual Drag" on for size and you will be rocking away. It's to bad Spacehog garnered that first hit single because it stunts the growth of an otherwise talented band. May the Hog live on!
