While Nashville may be a self-glorified tribute from Carolyn Mark and her Room-Mates, it brings back focus to Robert Altman’s 1975 flick of the same name. I can’t say that I have ever seen the movie but I will seek it out next time I’m in the video store looking for an oldie. Carolyn’s interest in the movie came from her friend Dave Lang who could recite pretty much every single line of the movie. She was puzzled by Dave’s enthusiasm with Nashville but Carolyn was eventually turned into a fan of the movie. Carolyn and Dave decided to stage the entire movie as a live show at one of their local bars. They had rehearsals and casting and the show was actually a hit. The speeches are awesome and well done with a big PA sound. The songs are fantastic. Everyone contributing gives Carolyn their all. Via the magic of DAT tape she was able to get a contribution from Kelly Hogan as well. It makes me want to go out and rent the movie.
