RecommendSunny Day Real Estate has gone through tough times, surviving a short break-up and losing members to the power house of the Foo Fighters. This being their second album since reforming in 1997 has found a new sound for the band. They have almost taken a prog rock direction with the sweeping songs all tied together with Jeremy Enigk's theatrical vocals. Reaching well beyond the emo genre, which they more or less created with their outstanding debut Diary, the band has chosen a wise title that fits the music within very fittingly. The songs ebb and flow like an ocean and never cease to disappoint. Even though the band has been stripped down to a 3 piece they still fill in each and every crack due in part to the brilliant production work of Lou Giordano. Sunny Day Real Estate has suceeded in making another classic.
