The crew known as Superchunk have just recently been celebrating he 10th anniversary of their label Merge. With that in mind, their 9th full length album is their finest moment yet. Teaming with indie great Jim O'Rourke, Mac McCaughan and company ironically add strings to a few of the tracks (they have a previous album called "Here's where the strings come in). This is their most ambitious and melodic outing yet. With memorable tracks like "You can always count on me", "Hello hawk", and "1000 Puonds" the album feels very personal and yet their most accessible. If you were tired of Superchunk give them another chance with Come Pick Me Up as it is very refreshing.
