People are starting to slowly discover this charming and unique Welsh band. Rings Around The World is Super Furry Animals 5th Album . Yes, and you probably haven’t even heard of them. Their playful and experimental sound has been fairly successful in the UK in the past and now they have jumped aboard the Beggars Banquet group for mass distribution in North America. Rings was released in the UK on Epic affiliate Creation last Summer and Beggars has finally got the album out here in North America. If you have been along for the strange Furry Animals trip thus far then you may not be impressed with Ring Around the World. Not saying that this isn’t a good album because it’s bloody brilliant but it really hasn’t taken SFA much further than previous albums. A band like this is expected to shock and amaze upon each release. If you are a newbie to Super Furry Animals then you will be shocked and amazed. They fuse pretty much every style of pop music into one album. There is bleeps and blips and full on electronica, and then the next turn there is a lounge tune like “Presidential Suite�. One of the most song oriented song is the catchy “Juxtapose With U�. While not forging into new territory this Super Furry Animals album is everything you could want from the band. Let’s hope the mind boggling changes come with their next album.
