Basicly a two person band fronted by Ohioian Dave Doughman and helped out by his friend and drummer Don Thrasher, Swearing is one of the best "bedroom" recordings I have heard since Elliot Smith. Not near as quite as Smith but every bit as appealing. This being their debut for Secretly Canadian has the makings of top 10's at the end of the year. The tracks are heartfelt and you can tell that the songs are about very personal subject matter therefore sung and played with all attention on detail. As well as changing labels they have also turned up the notch from lo-fi to hi-fi resulting in a finely poduced album.
