I was introduced to Tarantel a few years back and have been impressed with everything that the band puts out. Ephemera is actually a collection of 7 and 12 “ singles that the band has done over their lives. In the end we get 5 brilliant and sprawling tracks that seem to float and go in and out of your head uninvited. While they share a lot in common with Mogwai, they don’t ever quite achieve the volume that Mogwai is capable of. Ephemera is another great background music album that doesn’t distract you from your current duties. It’s the sort of album that keeps you going, just barely at times, and keeps you away from the silence. As the stars move, so do Tarantel. This is a band that you can’t help but grow to like. Give it a couple listens and you will enjoy.
