Newgrange - S/T
Newgrange is somewhat of a supergroup with Americana musicians from across the States. After doing a Christmas album in 1998 Mike Marshall and Darol Anger new they were onto something and decided to do another album without the limitations of a seasonal album. This selftitled album is what resulted and it shows of the members many talents without focusing too much on any single player. The music they have picked is a nice blend of old and new. Opening with an arrangement of the old folksong "Handsome Molly" to quite a few original compositions from the bands talented members. Banjo, mandolin, piano, accordian, Bouzouki, bass, everything under the sun. Makes for a nice light snack.
