You may have seen or heard Robert Benvie (Tigre) in such bands as Thrush Hermit, Rick of the Skins, Mike O’Neill and The Dears. Bankruptcy is Robert’s follow-up to his debut solo album Year of the Mutt. It’s a moody affair where Tigre ventures down ally’s best undiscovered. He tries to remain optimistic throughout the album and gets pretty good with his falsetto on some tracks. Robert shows that he is a very talented and introspective songwriter with tracks like “My father moved through dooms of love, and the soulful “Buckets of Cash. He even tries out catchy choruses on “Drowning In A Bubble Bath. Probably the most aggressive song on Bankruptcy is “Oh Patricia where everything is fairly distorted. That’s about it though. So either Robert is very troubled or just very imaginative, the bottom line is that Tigre Benvie provides some very fresh and interesting music.
