While they don’t really fit into the Electronica category outright, Kammerflimmer Kollktief would gel best with some IDM people. They fuse a crazy free jazz feel with post-rock ideals to create something completely new and interesting. It takes a couple of listens but eventually those people that will understand Kammerflimmer will be on their way. Others will run out screaming. Kollktief has grown over the last little while to boast 6 members. Upon close examination you will find melody and such buried deep within the rough textures of the jazz instruments. I did a translation online for Kammerflimmer Kollktief and found that it is a disease causing irregular heartbeats. That is just what this group does. Some people will be taken completely aback by this performance while others will be drawn in and each will find their own favorite part. A dynamic album by a very talented group of jazz musicians.
