There is something unique and mysterious about California's Walkie Talkie. Although their music isn't all that original they still evoke a air of confidence with their gentle roots rock style. Twilite starts out with a very cool track entitled "Alien Boy" with a quiet rainstorm lulling you into the song. The tracks are all very quiet and subdued but as I said earlier there is a quality about mellow country sounds. Some tracks remind me of Josh Rouse without all the production and others could be passed off as Lambchop tracks. There is a track called "Hard Times" that is equipped with the phonograph scratchings that help out this track sound like a completely retro country track.
