Sometimes, I suppose, talent skips a generation as it seems to have with the Williams family. Hank Williams III sounds eerily like his grandfather. The song writing is even top notch. After spending some of his youthfull years in various punk bands he decided to focus on his families heritage, country music. Apparently this album was recorded in 1997 but for some reason Curb saw fit to wait a couple years. The music contained on Risin' Outlaw is a nice mix of old style honky tonk and some newer elements as well. "Your the dirty hack that shot your old lady down" as heard on the raunchy Cocaine Blues.
