Vue - Find Your Home
I know I’m way behind on this San Francisco based band but the Fader Magazine article that I read on them made me go out and buy Find Your Home. In a time where bands like The White Stripes and The Strokes are getting so much attention and major label money, I’m amazed that a band like Vue would slip under the radar. Their sound is totally garage rock but with more of a 90-2000s feel to it. I think it’s all the heart and soul that singer, Rex Shelverton puts into the vocals. He wants to be a blues singer so badly but he’s caught up in all this rock and roll glamour. Another element that adds a lot to the mix is the keyboardist Jessica Graves. She is a great musician herself and it just adds another dimension that many other bands are lacking. Vue is a band with attitude. They just need to get some media attention during this garage rock resurgence and they will ride out quite nicely.
