Run Dmc - Crown Royal
If this album actually sees the light of day a lot of people will be totally shocked. An album that has been promised for over two years now and dates keep getting pushed back. So with anticipation almost forgotten about, Run DMC's star studded Crown Royal may actually see the light of day April 3, 2001. I thought the hype was a bit much but I still gave the album a good listen to and I was actually impressed. When you start throwing a few washed up rap artists that hardly even get along any more in with a whole slew of new school artists you start to think that this is just a marketing ploy. "Them Girls" features vocals of Fred Durst and it is one of the most creative tracks on the album. Kid Rock is here along with Everlast (a cool rap version of Steve Miller's "Take The Money and Run"), Sugar Ray, Nas, as well as Method Man, Jermaine Dupri, and a bunch of others. Run DMC may not have had much to do with this album (more of a compilation than anything) it pays a much overdue shout out to one of the most important rap groups of the past.
