When Beanie Sigel dropped his debut album, The Truth, no one was really ready for this rapper from Philadelphia. He has been on every rap album guesting and in return, the Reason is filled with featured artists. Check out this list: Memphis Bleek, Daz Dillinger, Jay-Z (on two tracks), Kurupt, Sparks, Scarface and more. His style is similar to that of Jay-Z but Beanie ends up sounding a little more original. While he hasn’t progressed much since The Truth, he has solidified his sound. His signing to Jay-Z’s Roc-a-Fella label has proven to be a good thing. Jay-Z promoting an act like this can only add to both of their credibilities. Beanie’s strong charisma will help this artist along the way as his voice is super strong and his rapping style is well-defined. You don’t even have to be into hardcore rap to enjoy this. All the tracks have great rhythm and non-intrusive vocals. The Reason is a good addition to any rap collection.
