After what seems like 2 years of hype, Built From Scratch finally hits the streets. The X-Ecutioners long awaited album is out and was definitely worth the wait. Scratch is one of the hardest hitting hip-hop albums to hit the streets with tracks like “Let it Bang featuring M.O.P. with it’s heavy guitar riffs and hardcore scratching or the heavy as shit “It’s going down with the boys of Linkin Park helping out. Don’t worry because there is some very old school rapping provided by many guests of the X-Ecutioners. There are even turntable instrumentals that really showcase their talent. Some of the other guests include Large Professor, Dan The Automator, Inspectah Deck, Pharoahe Monch, Everlast, Big Pun, and the Beat Junkies just to name a few. With the number of guests that the X-Ecutioners have on Built To Scratch you wonder where they have time to fit their dexterous scratching into the mix but they always find places. That’s were old school tracks like “Play that Beat are so welcome (there is a Lo Fidelity All Stars Remix of this track included). Or on “Feel The Bass the scratching comes out as the highlight. With Rob Swift, Total Eclipse, Roc Raida, and Mista Sinista all on the same team, it’s almost impossible to go wrong. Built from Scratch is not only an essential X-Ecutioners album but also an essential hip-hop album.
