I have never heard of the Clay People before this album but i am impressed. From what I have read they used to be a industrial/goth band but you wouldn't make that connection listening to their self-titled album. It is still very dark but with much metal tendencies. The vocalist Dan Neet provides both angst ridden and soft melodic presentation in his delivery. Dimensions like this haven't been reached since past Queensryche albums (imagine Queensryche only much much darker). They kind of miss a bit on "Ghostwishing" a kind of "silent lucidity".
