RecommendLaika has always been a refreshing break for me to get away from some of the drab boring attempts at "new" music. Good Looking Blues is Laika's third album since 1993. Cited by many musicians (Thom Yorke, Fiona Apple, Tricky...) as being one of the most creative original bands they stand to eventually break out into the mainstream as an "Overnight sensation". They always lay back with cool, gentle melodies while Margaret Fiedler (vocals) weaves her voice into the mix. It just seems a natural fit while also sounding very original. With many strong songs, Good Looking Blues might just be the album that does it for Laika. They deserve it.
