This Ohio based metal band isn’t going to turn heads. Lollipop Lust Kill doesn’t do anything new and groundbreaking in the metal arena but what they do is manage to pull together all of their influences and play as good if not better than all of them. My So Called Knife is a loud album that will appeal to Disturbed and Korn fans. They are just twisted and demented enough to reach out to social misfits all over the world. The band all has funky dark stage names like Evvy Pedder (vocals), DeadGreg (Guitar), pill (guitar), Dhuman (bass), Knits (drums), and Killer K (keyboards and samples). They all wear black suits (which is a complete switch for this area of music) stating that “scary people in the real world look like you and me. The band delves deep into a goth-like territory but has no problem switching things up to an angry Phil Anselmo yelp. Their music is angry murder rock (if such a term exists) with track names like “Kill Greedy, “Bury You, and “Knee Deep In The Dead. Their roots come out when they do a cover version of Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus. Lollipop Lust Kill is just like the kid next door: twisted and demented but looks like he’s going to be OK.
